Introduction :

pulao is a basic indian style rice pilaf that is aromatic, delicious, healthy and super quick to make for a meal.

What pulao basically is ?

pulao is a one pot rice dish made by cooking fragnant basmati rice with aromatic spices, herbs ans sometimes stock. there are many kinds of pulao recipes made in india like vegetable pulao, matar pulao, tawa pulao, coconut pulao, zarda pulao, kashmiri pulao, and chicken pulao 
The veg pulao recipe is one of the basic dish made often in many indian homes. in the above given pulaows mine favourite one is tawa pulao which is a popular mumbai street food of rice and vegetables sauteed together with pav bhaji masala and other spices-herbs. it is a popular and tasty rice recipe.
tawa pulao as the name says-
 'Tawa' - a flat concave shaped pan used in indian cooking for making chapatis, roasting as well as shallow frying.
the street side vendors use a huge tawa and they make pav bhaji, masala pav, tawa paneer masala and tawa pulao on this huge tawa. for home cooks, this recipe can be made in frying pan or even in a kadai (wok).

Ingredients :

2 cup cooked rice
2 tbsp red chilli paste
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds 
1 onion (sliced)
1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste
1 cup shredded cabbage 
1/4 cup chopped capsicum
1 chopped tomato
1/2 cup boiled potato
1/4 cup chopped beans 
salt as needed
1/4 cup boiled peas
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
pavbhaji masala 1 tbsp

Method :

1. firstly, put the pan on stove and butter to it, when melted add cumin seeds/ jeera to it and roast untill gets brown

2. Now, add onions and cook untill gets translucent.

3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook untill aroma comes out.

4. Now add red chilli paste and mix well.(to make this paste blend 2-4 kashmiri red chillies with water and 2-3 chopped garlic or you can also add red chilli powder to it, if you don't have kashmiri chillies you can also use readymade red chilli paste).  

5. Add cabbage and cook it for 3-4 minute.

6. start adding capsicum, tomato, potato and beans and give them a good mix and cook them for 5-6 minutes

7. Add salt and again cook it for 2-3 minutes.

8. Now add rice to it, give a good mix and add butter, lemon juice and pavbhaji masala, cook for 1-2 minutes. 

9. Tawa pulao is ready to munch this tasty pulao can go with any raita, chutney, pickles, etc. and is very tasty. so, try this tempting recipe and share your feedbacks with us.
